![]() ![]() Im talking 0.04MBps download speed on my phone when trying to download black flag. I can actually download it at around 2.4 MBps which I'm super happy with, but EVERYTHING else on my network can't do a thing with the internet. And then it poops out in no time flat and I can't do anything.Īlso, during those times when the internet is actually working really well I've been trying to download Assassin's Creed:Black Flag. There are times when the network is at 300Mbps and everything flies. Pingtest is making me a liar and not that bad. My Speedtest and Pingtest results very greatly from back to back runs. Sporadically, it will go to about 115Mbps which makes the internet usable but most of the time it is at a crawl. When I start my computer or unplug/plug in my network adapter I show 300Mbps, which then QUICKLY degrades to about 5.5Mbps. I don't have a problem connecting to my network but I do have problems with connection speed. I have recently built a computer and am using a Netgear WNA3100 Wireless adapter with it. I have installed the latest drivers per Netgear instructions (Windows 8.1 driver).Īll drivers and updates have been done to windows. No firewall software installed other than the standard Windows Defender. My ISP is Time Warner Cable ( Road Runner Cable with Power Boost) Software was easy to install and a driver is available through the software even if you are offline and don't have access to an ethernet connection. This is a wireless connection (My computer is about 10-12 feet directly above my router) The latter of which seems to have more/better product options. Also have to factor in your system requirements as well as what type of USB ports you have access to whether they are 2.0 or 3.0. I think if I had a dual band network router the process for finding a good adapter/dongle would have been much easier. You can just enter the passcode for your wi-fi instead if you can remember it from 4 years ago when you initially set it up :), we couldn't so the WPS was the best option. The WPS whenever you try to connect that way(tested at least 5 times) and every time it takes about 5-8 tries of pushing both devices WPS buttons to connect so that was my only concern with the product. I choose this particular adapter since it was also a Netgear and seemed to be compatible across the board and it is. I have a wide open space between the router and the Netgear device, I might also add that the router I have is a Netgear N300. Only problem I had was with the WPS but it eventually worked. ![]()
